So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hello I’m Simply Natara, a plus size model and mother of 2 boys. Born and raised in Hartford, CT. I moved to Georgia in 2013 looking for change for my sons and to pursue modeling. As weird as it sounds I have always dreamed of being an inspirational model to women and young teens of all shapes, sizes and ethnic backgrounds. I say as weird as it sounds because growing up I was called some pretty harsh names and dealt with a lot of mental and physical abuse along with death and abandonment. So to be who I am today and where I am today brings me much joy.
Moving to Georgia has helped me blossom into the person I am today. My humility, confidence and self love has helped me build a social media presence as a plus size model that I never imagined was possible (19k organic followers in 6 months) especially when all I’m doing is showing the world my Authentic Self. I embrace all of me, flaws in all.
With this, I have become (self proclaimed) a self-love and self-confidence social media influencer. I inspire, encourage, and motivate women and young teens to embrace who they are regardless of what society may say. I promote these qualities through my own personal lifestyle and online clothing store. I no longer let my past dictate my future. I live life on my own terms. My trademark is tagging my weight on all of my pictures. I wear my weight as my badge of honor to show people that weight looks different on everyone and there is nothing wrong with that. As I traveled my journey to becoming a plus size model I also created a brand and movement created out of Frustration.
I always wanted to be a plus-size model, there were and still are so many brands that I want to work with. Upon competing in competitions, casting calls and reaching out to various companies. I never got anywhere or received feedback as to why I was not selected. Case and point on July 13, 2019, I competed in “Finding Ashley Stewart 2019” even though I left such a memorable experience with them that lead to them sharing it on their own page and being the top viewed videos on their page I still wasn’t selected. On the reverse side, I have been contacted by companies that I was nowhere near a good fit. For example, it is very evident that I am a plus size individual, I would be contacted by companies that told me they thought I would be a great fit for their company but did not carry plus size clothing at all. This became very frustrating. Finally it hit me, I thought to myself instead of representing someone else’s brand why not create your own brand. This is how “Authenticity By Natara” was created. A brand and movement created out of Frustration.
A little about the brand.
Authenticity By Natara is an all-inclusive clothing brand that is geared towards empowering women and teens to be Authentic and show the world who they truly are. I cater to women and teens of all shapes, sizes, ages and ethnic backgrounds. I created the brand “Authenticity By Natara” to remind women/teens that it is 100% ok to be Authentic, Be True Be You. We live in a world where society thrives off people pretending to be someone they are not. I encourage women and teens to start being their Own Authentic Self. Authenticity By Natara. Be True Be You.
Authenticity By Natara is looking to grow as a brand that continues to sell t-shirts that are very expressive while also helping women and teens overcome obstacles, build their confidence and self-esteem one person at a time.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road and I’m learning that this is something that comes along with the business. As long as I have a plan and work it every day everything will work out just fine.

Authenticity By Natara has partnered with Discover Me Boutique and created a talk show entitled “The Royal Table Talk.” On this platform we come together and discuss some of the issues going on in the world today as it relates to self confidence, self esteem, self love, self hate, body positivity, weight loss, weight gain, relationships, parenting, domestic violence, being a model, being a teenager and social media in general. We are currently working out a few kinks as this is very new to us follow our page on Instagram @theroyaltabletalk.
