Meet Natasha Andrews of BoojiBEE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Andrews.

Natasha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I always loved makeup. Dressing up and just feeling pretty! BoojiBEE Mobile Beauty began for me in 2015 when I began beauty school back in Ohio. At that time, I owned a brick & mortar small business called “Last Minute Lashes.” Where, I, of course, applied false eyelashes! But it began to be too routine for me. I was too creative to be stuck just doing lashes. So I decided to quit beating around the bush and go to cosmetology school! My passion for the beauty & fashion industry was always within me. Even when I attended the University of Cincinnati for Criminal Justice, I was always dabbling in hair, nails & makeup!

During my time at Empire Beauty School of Cincinnati is where I revamped my brand and decided I wanted to do “mobile beauty!” I didn’t want to be in a shop or a salon. I’m an Aquarius, a risk taker, an adventurer. If I wanted to be stuck between 4 walls I would have stayed in corporate. Plus, I wanted to build a business that catered to personal concierge beauty services for all walks of life. Regardless of financial status or job title! I just want to make people feel beautiful.

Bring you up to speed, I graduated! Which I had every reason to quit and not finish. I was 4 months pregnant with 2 children when I started school. I was going through so much that statically, I should have failed! And at times I wanted to quit! But my kids, the thought of not securing a future for them was scarier than not completing school!

Once I graduated, my heart was set on moving to Atlanta. I knew that if I wanted to change, to be challenged and yo grow I needed to be in a city that does all of that. I didn’t for one second consider the competition here. I so tunnel vision on learning, and educating myself, while just building and enjoying this journey, I don’t have time to notice the competition. Which we all know Atlanta has lots and lots of competition! But my main reason for coming here was to start over and build my business. To bring a little bit of “me” to this city and network with winners. So I can win too!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road? HA! HARDLY! For one, I have 3 children. That alone makes my moving here emotionally draining, financially compelling, and limited time to really get out and network how I’d like and need to.

Second, finding a place was hard, and expensive. Me and my clan stayed in Inntown Suites in Midtown for 3 weeks! $1,500 FOR 3 WEEKS! Atlanta will make you put up or shut up if you want to be here! Well me and my dream-chasing got me here alright lol!

Third, amongst so many others, I’m a licensed cosmetologist. I came not knowing anyone, not having clientele. Just a couple thousand, 3 little humans and a dream, and all the good salons I’d love to be apart of ALL WANT BOOTH RENT! Lol! Although my objective is to build my mobile salon, extra income wouldn’t hurt by no means at all! Besides, I’m still a student of my profession and I want to learn from those here and doing more than me!

And I have so, so, so many more, but that’s for another day!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about BoojiBEE – what should we know?
BoojiBEE is a mobile beauty business based here in Atlanta. Being a licensed, master cosmetologist here in the state of Georgia, I provide salon & spa services in the comfort of your home, office, or studio! My specialty is nails and makeup. But I also provide some natural and extension hair services. I’m most proud of myself for having the courage to grow my brand and my business here. The transition continues for me and I’m still adjusting.

What sets me apart from others in my field is I’m not your typical salon. I’m your consultant, your personal beauty advisor. I’m not looking to just style you but service you. I want a relationship and retention. Giving you one on one attention, customer service and access to be put together well in no time! And with that, the clientele will come, and my business will grow.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My personality and professionalism! Hands down! I always hear how fun I was, how pleasant & thorough I was. Providing awesome convos and insight lol! My facebook reviews reflect my work ethic!
