Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Harris.
Natasha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a young adult, my mother, sisters and I begin decorating and planning events for family, friends and eventually paid clients as a side hustle. In March of 2016, after the passing of my mother, I eventually took time off from my business to grieve. Fast forward to 2019, my passion for one of my first love (planning events) kept coming back in dreams and eventually into reality as I began decorating & planning events again.. This time I created events surrounding experiences I needed for myself as well as referred clients. Working with others has always been exciting to me. I deem myself as a people’s person. Lol. In honour of my mother even though it still hurts; creating events is my way of remembering her and making the memories we shared memorable by working on different client’s special day. I birthed DivaOnADimeWear LLC to create yearly events which include: Vision Board Parties, Pop Up Shops, Women Empowerment Conferences & networking opportunities for women to gain insight on their business. Together, other professionals and I help build confidence and support women launch their own platform.
When life happens for most, we either stay down or move forward and make things happen. My motivation for serving people comes primarily from my mother. We give hope, make memorable moments and connect invitees with others serving as connections to support them and activate their true identity which brings me joy.
As I have evolved, I’ve become a business coach to beginner business owners helping them to gain clarity and birth their own business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an entrepreneur is never easy or a smooth road to say the least. Starting a business and taking time off to grieve when my mother passed took me into the mindset of lack their of with my confidence level. Coming back from nearly a two year sabbatical was scary getting back out there. Luckily, I had the help of family and friends. I remembered what my company stood for and of which it was built. Each time I do an event, I always refer to how happy it made my mother which made great memories for me.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with DIVAONADIMEWEAR LLC – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
DIVAONADIMEWEAR LLC serves as a Women Empowerment Brand and Consulting Company. We create yearly events for small business owners by uniting women with professionals on educational topics such as business branding, health & wealth, relationships, entrepreneurship and living an intentional lifestyle. I also serve as a business coach to beginner business owners providing them with systems to put in place to enhance their platform and produce income.
I am proud to know that I can help new business owners start their business and avoid some of the same mistakes I made as when I became a new entrepreneur. My clients have daily access to me where I am transparent in our conversations, No sugar-coating or enabling. I provide clear cut goals and opportunities so that we all can win.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As a former student of Alabama A&M, Mercer University, and now a public school educator is naturally my plan to continue to build my online community (Women Academy) to educate, provide and support services for small business owners. I am here to help them grow in their walk of entrepreneurship.
