Meet Peta-Gay Barrett of Barrett Fitness Enterprises in Smyrna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peta-Gay Barrett.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a former all American college track and field athlete (University of Alabama) I have always had a passion for health and fitness. After college, I ran professional track for a couple of years representing my birth country of Jamaica and after 2-3 years decided to pursue my career as a hotel manager, which was what I majored in, in college.

While working as a hotel manager, I did personal training part time and decided to pursue it full time this past May. Which was when I resigned my hotel job after 15 years or so to become a full-time Personal Trainer.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wish I could say it has been a smooth road but that is not the case. Running a company solo takes a lot of time commitment and dedication. Finding time to market, advertise, handle the books, etc. while conducting boot camps and one on one in home training can take a toll on an individual. It is at times difficult stay organize and on top of things at all times, but I do my best to prioritize!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Barrett Fitness Enterprises, LLC – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Nutrition Specialist and Women’s Fitness Specialist. All certifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I am most proud of my client’s accomplishments, whether it’s losing over 10 pounds in 4 weeks of running or their first 10k, I get great gratification from seeing my clients becoming a happier healthier version of themselves.

I believe what sets me apart from other is that I create specialized custom workouts for each and every client. Also, I understand the fact that exercise without a balanced and clean diet is futile and can provide nutritional guidance to all my clients in addition to the specialized workouts. I have a personal rapport with all my clients and is available to them for other lifestyle guidance and accountability.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would like to be an inspirational speaker to help motivate women to become a healthier happier version of themselves.
