Meet Quachavious Ellison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quachavious Ellison.

Quachavious, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hello my name is Quachavious Eillison and I’m professionally known as Qnova. I’m a music artist from Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve always had a passion to do music. At the age of eight, I found my talent in writing, rapping, and singing. I was inspired to do music by older cousin that also had dreams of becoming music artists.

I would support them at their music auditions, showcases, talent shows, etc. This inspired me to make music apart of my life. In middle school, I joined music clubs and talent shows. I remember participating in rap battles in school and winning every round! This was when I knew, I wanted to make music my career. I continued to practice and practice over the years!

Over time, I have participated in an estimate of sixty shows in Atlanta, Alabama, and Florida combined. I have participated in multiple professional music interviews including radio stations. Additionally, I’ve been displayed in over twenty known blogs, magazines, and internet radio stations. Recently, my new single, “Check Up,” has been chosen to be apart of Snoop Dog’s Doggy Style mix tapes. My new single is also in rotation on 102.6 The Situation, “Home of Sheryl Underwood,” radio station which it is also apart of the top of the hour broadcasts. My music is on all major digital platforms. In the past year, my video, “I’m so Hype,” was unloaded through Vevo. Through hard work and dedication, I am continuing with my music journey and breaking through the music industry.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth journey but it is well worth it! I say this because music is my passion. Being an independent artist requires harder work than usual (harder hustle and grind). However, I didn’t give up!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
People know me as Qnova. This name means a lot to me. I have combined the letter “Q” (first name beginning with Q), with the word nova, (which is the brightest star in the galaxy). I am a star and I bring a lot of diversity into the music industry. I specialize in writing my lyrics, rapping, and singing. I am most proud of being original and I must say, I am blessed to be gifted in what I do. To top things off, I have a powerful voice that draws the attention to my listeners. Being a diverse artist with originality sets me apart from many others.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, what I would have done differently would be networking harder. In my teens, I didn’t understand the importance of networking as I do now. Networking is vital and will  help boost careers.
