Meet Sabrina Joseph of Roya Productions in Buford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Joseph.

Sabrina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Roya started 3 years ago during a time of transition in my life. I had recently stepped out of a job that I loved sensing that there was something more for my next season. A lot of great opportunities came my way during that time, but for some reason, none of them felt right. After a year of struggling with deciding what was next, I sat down and began to visualize what my ideal organization and job role would look like. I thought to myself, if what I am looking for doesn’t exist, maybe I should create it.

I put a landing page together just as a way of helping me through this exercise. During that process, the name ROYA came to mind. As I researched the meaning of that word, I found that it meant “vision or dream.” The name encompassed what I wanted to help people do in the world. I wanted to help bring vision and dreams to life in people, in organizations, and in experiences. I named my landing page “ROYA PRODUCTIONS”, and put it out there on my social media for fun. Almost immediately I heard from the Executive Director of John Maxwell’s Non-profit, EQUIP asking about partnering with them on an upcoming conference. That project launched ROYA as a company and began a journey that has been far more than I could have ever dreamed or expected.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Launching this company has been fulfilling but hasn’t come without many challenges. Learning to grow and scale a company financially to be able to provide for yourself and others has been one of the biggest challenges. Since the event world is seasonal and project-based, it is hard to gauge your income and profit.

I’ve also always dreamed of doing what I love with the people I love, but that hasn’t come easy either. Blending personal and professional relationships requires deep trust, commitment, and patience. Building something from the ground up looks like a lot of late hours and unpaid sacrifices. I have been so grateful to have had some amazing friends and family come alongside Roya at different phases of the journey to help build up and grow us as a company.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Roya Productions – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Roya is a full circle design and production house specializing in creating immersive experiences that bring brands to life. Unlike many other production companies, we start from the beginning partnering with our clients to dream and create innovative ideas for the entire experience of an event. From programming, to set design, to live producing, and event branding, we help create a special event that connects audiences to the heart and story of a brand. We see the whole process through from creation to execution to provide a consistent experience with every touch point.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are excited to be working with some great brands this fall and next year. We are looking forward to continuing to grow our creative culture and expand into the world of music in the new few years helping artists create experiences around their albums and live shows.
