Today we’d like to introduce you to Shauna D. Balfour.
Jamaican native Shauna D. attended the University of Georgia where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in International Business-Marketing and a certificate in Music Business. The proud Georgia Bulldog advanced her education and earned her Juris Doctorate of Law and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management. She may be Bulldog alumni, but you will quickly learn that Shauna D. has a bulldog work ethic and dedicates her time and effort into being the best professional she can be.
Shauna D. has worked in the film and music entertainment industry since 2006, interning for record labels and publishing firms. Shauna’s first experiences in the entertainment industry began after her graduation from the University of Georgia as a partner and publicist for a boutique Public Relations firm called 3riple Threat Media Group, LLC. During her time at 3riple Threat, Shauna D. compiled media kits and press materials for clients, constructed marketing plans for artists and maintained professional relationships with media outlets like print magazines, radio personalities, and DJ’s. Not to mention she is well traveled, a former brand ambassador, and even can play the drums, giving her hands-on experience in the field of entertainment.
Shauna D. then decided to advance her talents working as a talent manager and producer at another production company. Shauna was also a producer for various television pilot presentations, short films, and music videos.
Shauna D. & Company – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Shauna D. & Company, LLC is a Personal Talent Management Company. It focuses on overseeing the day-to-day business affairs of a talent; advise and counsel talent concerning professional matters, long-term plans and personal decisions which may affect their career which includes: branding, social media management, business development, and consulting. I am most proud of talent achieving their initial goals on being on television and film and being part of the elusive Talent Managers Association. What sets me apart is the fact I care about the person themselves and will push and coach until reaching maximum potential. I care about the long goal than a short term profit. Furthermore, I have a background in PR, entertainment law (specializing in film legal deliverables and distribution) and reality television casting.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
How do I personally define success? The definition of success is the ability for my clients to reach the next level of visibility, branding, and reaching a new benchmark on their own personal goal plan. With that in mind, every client is different, thus reaching any benchmark of theirs is important. I manage a variety of talent from actors, dancers, producers, and hosts. Therefore, success to me varies, however, just to mention a few: helping my actor clients acheive supporting roles in films or television guest starring or recurring roles after proper preparation on their auditions; setting up their own private entrepreneurial business; doing pre-production on their own film; adding more or advanced agent or PR representation,and acheiving positive press is a win-win for me.
