Meet Tanya Pot of Natural Health Vibes in South Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Pot.

Tanya, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was introduced to the health and wellness field at the age of 14 by my father. He was in the military and would always have me doing fitness challenges with him. I vividly remember doing 1,000 sit-ups with him. It was exhilarating for me.

At this moment, I realized that I had developed a passion for fitness. As I grew older, I witnessed loved ones becoming ill. This made me recognize that nutrition has a profound impact on fitness. What we eat plays a vital role in how we look and feel. 

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have seen friends and family members become severely ill due to their dietary choices. Emotionally, this has been draining for me. An individual has to want to change for him/herself. I have shed tears trying to fight someone else’s battle with making the proper food choices. Some people in today’s society have become comfortable with the Standard American diet. I have struggled with the frustration of seeing people continue to become sick, hence the reason of why I became a fitness nutrition specialist.

Natural Health Vibes – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a health coach, I offer people advice on how to live a healthier lifestyle. I believe what sets me apart is my philosophy on health and wellness. I have adopted an Eastern methodology versus the commonly known Western approach that utilizes conventional medicine. I consider the whole person with an emphasis on the connection with the mind, body, and spirit. What makes me proud is when people tell me that I have changed their lives for the better.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is relative. Everyone has their own interpretation of success. Therefore, we should not infringe our notions of success on the next person. It is based on one’s personal and environmental experiences. However, when speaking of success as it pertains to health and wellness, it is holistic in nature. One must feel balanced with the mind, body, and soul. Establishing healthy habits with nutrition, fitness, and mental clarity is success through my eyes.
