Meet Tomecca Millender of Creatively Tome in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tomecca Millender.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tomecca. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a child, I grew up feeling a void left by shame and abandonment. Thinking that my faith would be my saving grace, turning to church members hoping they would fill that longing for family. Learning from maternal disregard, while at times being completely broken myself, I decided I wanted to share my story with women all across the world. I love people, I have a passion for helping Young girls and Women with the same experiences as me. I made a promise to myself and God that if I ever got back on my feet I would help someone else. I don’t want to be famous, I want to be influential!!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No it has not been relatively smooth, at times it has been a struggle. People want it for free from you but don’t mind paying somebody else, I have experienced scammers, ghosting especially by blacked owned business owners. Not producing my product, then having to dispute payments, has been a challenge, not only that spending money to brand myself because people don’t want to help you. I have sent in many letters for donations, sponsorships, for my pageant, asking to be featured on Tv/radio shows segments. The only positive expose I’ve had was appearing on TMZ live a couple of times, I’m a aspiring TV/ radio personality, and entertainment Journalist (red carpets, fashion show, etc.) Lala Mlian said it best “If you are as hungry as me and stop trying to starve everybody around you, we can all eat”!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The only thing I would start over is my education, the things I know now I would do differently and my marital status. I believe everything happens for a reason.
