Today we’d like to introduce you to Tosha Wright.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We started The Wright Stuff Chics in 2016 as a family business. I already had a very small facebook shop that did well during the 2015 holidays and continued well in 2016. My twin sister had just started a Christian apparel t-shirt company in September 2015 so thanks to her, I had the idea to start a teacher t-shirt company.
We wanted to design cute teacher tees where teachers could dress them up or down on any given occasion. Our brand has grown tremendously over the last three years. We not only have a thriving teacher tee shop but we also offer boutique items such as cute sweaters, jewelry and jacket/sweaters/pullovers.
In 2017, we added another venture- a non-profit, The Pink Santa Hat Movement, Inc, where we uplift and honor educators who are currently fighting breast cancer. Breast cancer is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts as my twin sister lost her courageous three-year fight against breast cancer this past July.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but that’s life right!? Some struggles we dealt with over the last couple of years is figuring out our inventory and staying on track of shipping. We are a small business with a small staff, and at one point we could not keep up with the demand of our shirts, but thanks to our amazing employees we have a much better system in place and our inventory is up-to-date with most shirts shipping out within 3-5 business days.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in teacher t-shirts and gifts. Most people know us for our shirts. The most amazing thing is seeing someone out in public in one of our tees! I am most proud of how our company has grown over the last two years.
We have two full-time employees, several part-time employees, and several seasonal workers. Our designs set us apart from others. While our designs are original, we work with other teacher designers to design the actual shirt.
We currently have over 25 designs along with jackets, sweaters, jewelry, and so much more! We also have teacher conferences called Teach Your Heart Out and Pep Talk Events which are a comedy show for educators. We are committed to making the world a better place, especially for educators.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
While we are mostly an e-commerce business, we are at the center of lots of things in the metro Atlanta area. I would say social media has helped grow our brand, so we have customers from all over the area. The nice thing about our shop is that we offer in-store pick-up so if we have local customers, they can save on shipping.
