Meet Trailblazer Bishop Marlyn Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bishop Marlyn Thomas.

Bishop Marlyn Thomas has been pastoring for 16 years and is the Senior Pastor & Founder at Life Line Family Worship Center in Fayetteville, GA. and Overseer of Life Line Family Worship Center in Williamsburg, VA.

She is a loving wife to Dr. Freeman Thomas and mother to UGA Graduate & Professional Basketball Player Kenny Gaines.

Bishop Thomas’ oldest son Albertio ‘LA’ Smith passed away on October 2016 at the age of 29 years old. LA’s death sent Bishop Thomas into a severe state of depression and grief but through much prayer, loving support system & the Word of God, Bishop Thomas came out of what she calls ‘the dark tunnel’ of depression.

She has founded the Albertio ‘LA’ Smith Scholarship Memorial in memory of her son which awards Tuition Assistance for deserving High School & College Students.

Bishop Thomas is a Philanthropist, Gospel Recording Artist, Author, Leadership Trainer, Talk Show Host & sought after Motivational Speaker.

Her testimony is, “I took my Pain, used it as fuel for my Purpose to get to my Destiny”.
Bishop Thomas’ life’s mantra is… win with the hand you’re dealt!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There will always be obstacles on the journey to fulfilling your purpose but you must stay focused and not allow anything to distract you from what you know God has called you to do.

We’d love to hear more about Life Line Family Worship Center.
As a Pastor and Leadership Coach, I love mentoring Leaders. I believe the success of any great Leader comes from those who have been shaped through Mentorship. My proudest moments are seeing those I’ve mentored experience levels of success that they desired to achieve.

We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
I absolutely love and embrace barriers of any kind because it’s an opportunity to do something great that so many will benefit from.
