Today we’d like to introduce you to Davina (Vee) Thomas and Adrienne (AD) Scott.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We have always had very interesting and hilarious conversations. We would discuss things that wouldn’t be deemed as normal, asking deeper questions on topics that are considered taboo. We are both very inquisitive people so coming together was inevitable.
The actual podcast came out because Vee was listening to one of her favorite podcasts and realized that they talked about nothing for a full hour. Then, she thought back to all our conversations and said let’s do it.
We made sure we created a space where we could share our perspective unapologetically. We make sure each episode is filled with laughter and love.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No struggles or obstacles I believe because this has come naturally to us and anything that we deem as difficult we strive to figure it out.
The most difficult thing we probably deal with is our scheduling because we are in two very different phases in our lives but when we get together everything goes smoothly.
Our advice for young women starting the podcast journey is to choose your co-host wisely. Chemistry is everything. Our advice for young women starting any journey is to be consistent and present. Consistency is the key to success; you can’t give up. You must be present to receive your reward.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about A Podcast about Nothing – what should we know?
A Podcast about Nothing is a… podcast. Lol. We specialize in making difficult topics easy to talk about and easy to listen to. We do this through comical opinion and very little (few) facts.
In other words, we talk a lot of ish!!!
What sets us apart is that we are us. Two black girls Vee is a mother of three with a husband and AD is a 25-year-old college graduate. We are almost a decade apart but can relate in so many ways.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
We both have very honest and fun parents. So, it’s easy for us to be just that. Honest and fun at the same time.
We grew up in very different households but what we have in common is that we could be ourselves.
This plays a major role in this podcast and is why we are successful!
