Meet Trailblazer Jade Renee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Renee.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jade. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I attended Tennessee State University where I graduated with a degree in Mass Communications. I originally wanted to work in radio + television, so I interned with the hottest companies like V-103, The Source magazine, Viacom and more. While in school, I worked at a department store where I was soon fired without reason… two weeks before my rent was due with no other source of income. I’ve always loved designing, as a personal hobby. I’d always practice random designs in photoshop during classes and in the radio station to where people started recognizing what I was doing and wanted to pay me for it. I soon realized that radio is not what I wanted to do, I’d rather do what I loved to do which was ultimately my hobby. So, after getting fired from the department store at 19, I decided to start a graphic design company (Infinite Graphix) just to pay my bills for the following month. After receiving 3x what I’d usually make at the department store in the first few months, I had made up in my mind that I’d never return to working a 9-5. My business grew so fast, so quick that I had to truly take it seriously. After endless exposure working with and building connections with high profile beauty brands, entrepreneurs, churches, universities, etc the demand of Infinite Graphix got bigger and I made $100,000 my first year in business. Two years into the business and $250,000 later; I turned Infinite Graphix into a full creative agency, Luxx Media Group which now a half million dollar brand that offers logo design, graphic design, web design, and print materials.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been easy AT ALL, especially going into entrepreneurship so young. At 20, grossing over $100,000 annually with no discipline is HARD. I’ve spent tons of money on pointless things that I could’ve invested in my brand. (I’m so happy I’ve learned from my past business mistakes!) I’ve taken company losses, client losses, etc. As entrepreneurs, we cry a lot, we go broke then we’re “rich” again, we continuously fail, and the list goes on. Gaining clients has never been a struggle for me because I’ve learned that your potential client will invest in you before they invest in your business. By that, I mean my potential clients loved my transparency and my platform which made them more interested in my business! I’ve messed up a hundred thousand times but I never gave up! The road is not easy and it’s certainly not overnight but seeing your hard work and dedication pay off is what it’s all about! My determination to live a life I never want to take a break from is what keeps me going. My loyal clients keep my business thriving. So, the struggles are needed to appreciate the beauty. It truly is beauty in the struggle. Five years later and I’m still learning/growing within my business, it’ll always be a lifelong process.

My advice to young women entrepreneurs who are just starting their business journey, just please DONT GIVE UP. It will get hard, you may hit rock bottom, you may not know how to figure out a problem in your business, but everything works it’s self out as long as you stay true to yourself and your brand. Don’t focus on making your brand perfectly, it will become perfect through the flaws. Just start and never be afraid of failure, failure will be your best friend! That’s the hardest/scariest part but it breeds character within your company.

Please tell us about Luxx Media Group – what should we know?
I own a digital creative agency, Luxx Media Group which offers graphic design, web design and print marketing material for today’s millennial startups and corporate companies. We are most known for our seamless web design services and statement logo designs.

I am most proud of the fact that LMG has worked with over 3,000 brands in its five-year period.

The work itself sets my company apart from any other agency. It’s truly a luxury experience when dealing with Luxx Media Group and we work hard to provide the best graphics for millennial brands.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
I’m honestly inspired by all women, but my mom inspires me the most. I’ve seen her be an entrepreneur for 20+ years and never give up. Through all the obstacles of being a mom + wife and then running a self-owned business that long is just amazing! It inspires me to go so much harder knowing that women like her have paved the way for me and made me see that anything in life is attainable with consistency and drive.
