Meet Tuanieha Simms of Sonshine Bath LLC in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tuanieha Simms.

Tuanieha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
On January 5, 2016, I gave birth to my best friend at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. His dad was deployed so I entered into momma bear mode almost instantly. When Tj was about two months old, he broke out all over his body, so I took him to his pediatrician and they informed me that he had baby acne. I’d never heard of it, nor did I believe it, so I convinced myself that it was something I was using on his skin. I then began researching natural ways to make soaps and lotions and after a few months, I came up with the perfect formula and we haven’t looked back.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It wasn’t a smooth road for me because I took the lack of support from the people I loved very personally. It took me years to realize that there are people in our lives who will love us but only while they’re doing better than us.

Aside from the lack of support, everything else was what I expected business to be. There’s a lot of research involved and testing and retesting and while it gets tiring, it’s extremely rewarding. My retention rate is at a steady 37% & all of our products are rated 5 stars.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sonshine Bath LLC – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Sonshine Bath LLC is a natural skincare company founded by myself and my Sonshine Tristan. We are known for our body butter, soap & toner and as of recently, our candles which you can find over at LIT by Sonshine.

I am most proud of my products & my customer service. As a full-time mom and entrepreneur, it can become overwhelming trying to balance my motherly duties and running a business but I take pride in what I do and I value my relationships with my customers. I work extremely hard perfecting my products before I market them, but I also realize that you could have the perfect product and still fail as a business if you lack customer service skills.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Right now, my plan is to hire a few workers so that we can keep up with the demand for our products and work on getting Sonshine Bath into stores worldwide.
