Meet Cheryl McCord of Tutu’s By Cheryl in Fayetteville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheryl McCord.

Cheryl, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Tutu’s by Cheryl started as a passion I’ve always had for all things girly and frilly. Ironically, when my son Anthony was born in 2012, my girly and frilly passion was but to bed so I thought. While shopping in department stores for my son, I would pass by the girls section and noticed how the tutu’s were cute but very plain, not much style and lacked fullness of tulle fabric. Then when my son started early head start in August of 2014 in Fayetteville, GA. My passion of tutu’s drove me to make tutu’s for all the little girls in his class for dress up playtime. I received so many overwhelming compliments and a out poor of suggestions to start a business, so I did!! I made up business cards, opened a Facebook account and Instagram account, started my online sales to friends and family then nationwide!!! The business started growing and I opened up a brick and motor for space to handle the demand!! I really love making people of all ages smile because TUTU’S TRANSFORM PEOPLES ATTITUDES AND FORCES JOY UPON THEM (we all need it so much)!! Tutu’s by Cheryl specializes in all sizes, for all ages and all seasons for all reasons, taking tutu’s out of the box for only being worn by ballerina’s, ballet, dance or just in the warm months!!! Tutu’s by Cheryl makes tutu’s a FASHION STATEMENT THAT’S HERE TO STAY “GET YOUR TUTU ON”. All sizes for all ages and all seasons for all reasons!!!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were definitely struggles in opening a tutu business because people of older age weren’t open or lacked confidence to wear a tutu or think it was only for kids or ballet dance! I was up for the challenge and my passion drove me to show all sizes and ages can wear tutu’s!
