Urban’s Vintage is now @nonstopvintage on Instagram. Cobb plans to continue to use his talent and open up his PR firm in both the Atlanta and LA areas.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I’ve had to make so many sacrifices to achieve the type of accomplishments that I have. But at the same time, the success of Urban’s Vintage was slick an overnight situation. Within just one year, I gained over 200k followers!!. I was not prepared for that. It was almost like being a celebrity, so with that came the need of always trying to be perfect image wise (because I had slick became a public figure). It was the transition after Urban’s Vintage that caused the real challenges because I had to start all back over, but I made it work. I’m still not where I would like to be, but I know for a fact that God is holding greater victories in my future. I still hold the title as being one of the greatest journalists of all time!!
Please tell us about your work.
Urban’s Vintage now (@nonstopvintage on Instagram) is a blog that recognized the best in black entertainment. A reminiscent of the old BET like when we had Teen Summit, 106 & Park, and Cita’s World. What I am most proud of is the impact that the account has made in Black entertainment culture. The authenticity of it comes from the fact that it wasn’t like any other blog: the music videos, interviews, and content are the bomb. So bomb that even Spotify has made a playlist honoring it. How dope is that?!!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta! What I hate most about the city is the dating life; it’s way too much. I’m not trying to act like I’m the most perfect candidate but I am a bit of a hopeless romantic and it seems like most people here aren’t. That’s so annoying but I love the fact that it’s a great place to network and meet so many other like-minded people who are trying to get that bread (like me). The food here is also a bomb.
