Today we’d like to introduce you to Vatrice Davis.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Vatrice. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am an author, Certified Virtual Life Coach, and preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a passion for at-risk teenage girls and women, as I myself was a young teenage mother, doing the best I could with the tools that I had back then. My passion is to empower the brokenhearted and equip the less fortunate, not with just words but with a vision and a plan.
So, how did I get started. I found my voice and took a leap of faith. Being a teenage mother, people had already counted me out, but that was added fuel to my story. I took the fire and made it work for me. Everyone has a hurdle to jump whether intentionally made or placed by someone or something else, it is our decision to either jump it or stay at that starting point.
Life coaching came very easy for me, due to my passion to help people. It was mainly due to my role as a Christian or better yet a Kingdom mentality. Once our focus shifts from religion and flows from a Kingdom mindset, we would be amazed what life has to teach and give us, especially through coaching. Life coaching is an honor, it takes skill, time, and relationship building skills. It is no easy walk in the park, you have to be strong-minded, never basis, and patient. Developing and homing in on those skills will help many seeking the journey of such a path.
The life of an author, now that was a hard task for me. I was never a writer in school, or anywhere for that matter. But, I am so glad, God used and is still using me in that manner (hint, hint). My first book was a Journal on finding purpose, the journal has helped many men and women rediscover their purpose in life. Every-time, I go through the 21 Days cycle of the journal, I discover another level of my purpose. Sometimes we hit a roadblock, and need a crash course on finding our way, and that is exactly what the journal does. Help you find your path.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, smooth roads are great, but definitely not my story. I think the number one struggle many deals with when stepping out of their comfort zone, is “AM I ENOUGH, or AM I GOOD ENOUGH TO DO THIS”. That was mine, and if you are not careful, it will play on your mind. I didn’t feel as though I was the right person for the job, simply because I feared being rejected, did people want to be coached anyway, would anyone really want my book. But the best way to get passed that, what worked for me was “IF I DON’T DO THEN WHO WILL”. Sometimes you have to pep talk yourself while on your journey to fulfill a purpose.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Life Coaching… I coach people into discovering their purpose. Sometimes life pushes or better yet throws us off our path to purpose, simply because of life obstacles. My customed designed program pushes many back on track. Which actually is my companies brand iPush. iPush what, back into purpose, back into happiness, back into my destiny.
What sets me apart? I would say it would be my determination to see the people I coach succeed. If it all can’t be completed in 5 sessions, maybe we need 8 sessions. I have had the opportunity to see marriages flourish, business plans go forth, people going back to school, depression and rejection overcome, I am the coach of actions and not just words.
What am I most proud of? Seeing my clients flourish.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Determination, patience, time, communication, faith, and love who you have been designed to be.
