Meet Whitney Parks of Parks Evolution in Woodstock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Parks.

Whitney, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born into a family of entrepreneurs, starting my own business was always a dream. From a young age, I became fascinated by research and writing. I also had an innate love for nature and design. In college, I majored in public relations and communications. Fun fact, I worked over the summers at three National Parks. After that, I worked in marketing and communications at ski resorts in Lake Tahoe. I returned to school for a master’s degree in Interactive Environmental Journalism. This led me to marketing roles at environmental engineering companies.

After working with the engineers, I followed my passion and started Parks Evolution. My specialty is working on marketing strategies with architects, engineers, realtors, and other professionals.

Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest ongoing struggles are figuring out pricing and how to grow my business. Currently, I have about ten clients and three people working with me. There have been many times where I’ve felt overwhelmed. I’m excited to continue to grow the business. So we can help more people with their marketing strategies and goals.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Parks Evolution – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
My family has been in Atlanta for a long time. On both my mom and dad’s side, my great grandparents were from Atlanta. I think it’s really cool to have such long roots in the city. My grandfather on my dad’s side had a dairy in the Decatur area of Atlanta in the early 1900s called M.L. Parks Dairy. My grandfather on my mom’s side and my dad were builders in the Atlanta area. I don’t like the traffic! It is one of the most frustrating parts on living in the area. I’d love to travel more frequently inside the Perimeter, but it can take so much time due to traffic.
