Meet Yusuf Gray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yusuf Gray.

Hi Yusuf, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started stand-up comedy while vacationing in Atlanta in September of 2020. Since then, I have relocated from Fort Worth, Texas to East Point, Georgia. I am now a host at the famous Atlanta’s Original Uptown Comedy Corner on Saturdays at 4pm. Still only under 2 years of doing stand-up comedy, my name comes up when people mention the rising stars of Atlanta. I hear this quote quite often “you gotta check out the kid from Jackson, MS he’s really funny!”

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every solidified comedian knows that there’s no easy road in the entertainment business. When a comedian first starts out, there’s always a point to prove. From the tough crowds to the veteran comedians to the promoters, a comedian has to bring it every night. Especially in Atlanta because it is a lot of comedians working to solidify themselves. It is very easy to get bumped by the comedians that work harder.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a stand-up comedian. I am known for telling stories and giving people a glimpse of my perspective on the current and past events of America. The one thing that separates me from everyone else is my work ethic. I perform on at least two stages every night of the week.

How do you define success?
Success means to be able to get to a point where a person understands that everything they go or went through is necessary to be successful.
