Meet Justin Robinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Robinson.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
In college, where the funds were low, and the hunger was high, Chef JRob began his culinary journey with a simple mission in mind: to never go to bed with an empty stomach. In the midst of long, sleepless nights of studying, Chef JRob paired his creativity with a hot plate to create meals that he shared with his Hall Director and Resident Assistants.

The Chef JRob Show was birthed while Chef JRob participated as a contestant in Auburn’s BSU pageant. Chef JRob knew that in order to set himself apart from the other contestants, he needed to be creative and original. He decided to cook as his talent, and had his best friend, Rachel, record the very first Chef JRob Show. As the episode played, Chef JRob provided the judges and audience samples of his NY strip steak. Although he placed first-runner-up, the experience “preheated” what has grown into the Chef JRob brand.

His vibrant dishes, energetic cooking performance, and southern hospitality will certainly change your outlook on the art of cooking. In 2017, Chef JRob participated in Food Network’s Iron Chef Showdown and hosted a segment on healthy eating during the holidays on WTVM News.

As an Entrepreneurial Chef, Chef JRob aims to provide an innovative experience, exemplary service and fresh cuisine at your next event. He is available for private dining, family dinners, weddings, baby/bridal showers, meal preparation, demonstrations, and other experiences involving food.

Please tell us about your art.
I am a private chef from Mobile, Alabama bringing a Cajun kick to the Atlanta, Georgia culinary scene. I host private dinners, cater to baby showers, bridal showers(,) birthday parties, weddings, and more. I typically cook southern cajun dishes with a modern twist that makes my dishes stand out from others. My motto is, “Changing lives one tastebud at a time” and that is always the drive behind every dish I prepare(-)to create a savory experience. When clients book me, I hope they enjoy an experience that they will not forget; from the atmosphere to the vibes, and to the food itself all make the Chef JRob Experience. For the strangers that I come in contact with from cooking, after taking their first bite, I hope that we connect as friends. No matter what nationality I believe that my dishes can bring everyone together with the universal language of FOOD.

What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
For entrepreneurs in general today, it is much easier to launch a successful business. However, the success of the business itself primarily comes from the single drive of the business owner in my opinion. Promotion of your art, food, or music can reach a larger audience today than it would in the past with just one post on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, etc. Atlanta host a good number of driven young professionals that can benefit off of each other.
