Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabo World.
Sabo, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My career in music is pretty young. I made the decision to pursue my dream October 2017. Since then, I’ve released one EP, performed over 15 times within multiple cities and states, learned a lot of lessons, and I’ve earned a lot of blessings. I am preparing to release my sophomore project, my second EP, entitled “Beautiful Pain” which will deliver some heavy content with a dynamic sound.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road less traveled wasn’t designed to be smooth, ya feel me? Before music, I was giving my time and energy to things I had no love for, but now that I’m doing something that I have a real passion for, I don’t mind the “bad things” because I’ll always try to find the good in the situation. One of my biggest challenges so far has been finances. Trying to purchase beats, studio time, visuals, and other things can get costly to someone who is trying to take things serious like me. But throughout this process, I’ve had to reinvent myself in order to continue to do what I wanted to do. I invested in a camera, photography equipment, I learned to edit my own videos, and photos. I also invested in a microphone and speakers and began learning to record myself. There are a lot of challenges that come from this music game, but I love learning, I naturally love to hustle, and I just love music, so the highs balance out the lows,
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Sabo World is more than just an artist. I talk about how my goal is inspiration and motivation in my music a lot, and I use music as my platform to speak to people and through people. From handing out wristbands that say “Positivity = Growth” as small gifts to people as I encounter them, to hosting my first Sabo Sunday Field day, I’ve been able to make a difference in the lives of many people. Hearing people tell me how something I said, or something I did, helped them to push through a situation is something that money just couldn’t buy, and that’s kind of what I do this for.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I definitely feel like Atlanta is a great place to start in the music/ entertainment business. There is a lot of opportunities there that you won’t find in smaller towns. Even just being in the right place at the right time in Atlanta, you may bump shoulders with the right people that you’d never expect. My career began in Statesboro, GA, a small country town that was big on college football thanks to Georgia Southern University. Being in a smaller town forced me to take advantage of all the opportunities that presented themselves to me. Some performances might not have but 15 people inside, but I gained something from each one. Being in a small town also forced me to look outside to find other opportunities too. I learned it’s not always about where exactly you are, because if you never took advantage of the small opportunities, what makes you even think you’ll be ready for the big ones?
