Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Dennis.
Jasmine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As the youngest of six children, I come from very humble beginnings. I grew up in a small town with parents whose income was considered below the poverty line. Despite these early struggles, I managed to put myself through college and was also able to land a job as an IT engineer while still in school. I later transitioned to a business consultant, where I worked with multimillion dollar clients from well-known organizations.
During my IT career, I was extremely frugal with my money, and by the age of 23, I’d saved over $25,000 in just two years. During that time, I’d also raised my credit from a 495 to 706. When I shared this with my friends, they were really impressed and asked me to help them with their financial situations, which included getting out of debt and increasing their credit scores.
I spent the next few years building a portfolio of friends and family members that I had assisted. But when I started researching the massive amount of debt that Millennials had after leaving college, I turned my side hobby for friends & family into a full-service business to empower people that need financial and credit coaching.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely been a humbling experience over the last few years. While working in IT has been great, I was often overworked and underpaid compared to my male counterparts. I couldn’t always see my family when I wanted to which led to me battling with depression. I even put my health at risk by skipping doctor’s appointments to attend critical work meetings.
These were some of the things that propelled me to leave my demanding career and become my own boss so that I could start putting my family and my health first! Working for myself also allows me to travel the world to experience different cultures and meet interesting people. But more than anything, working for myself has allowed me to be “mentally” healthy again.

In my business, I specialize in providing Millennials with the knowledge and tools to secure their financial future. I help them discover how to make their money work for them and boost their bank accounts. This is done primarily through my one-on-one Money Strategy Sessions that clients can book whenever they need to.
And because studies show that our personal finances are directly impacted by our credit scores and credit reports, I also offer a self-paced credit education course called ‘The 20 Minute Credit Fix.’ Participants in this course learn how to correct items on their credit report and how to enhance their credit scores, with just 20 minutes of work.
What I am most proud of is teaching people, regardless of income, how to save $10,000 or more a year while paying off significant debt and building wealth.
What sets me apart from other companies is the simple fact that I walk with my clients every step of the way. I do everything from creating customized Financial Plans to conducting monthly and weekly check-ins (A.K.A. Accountability Calls) with my clients to ensure that they stay on track and reach their financial goals.
I also like to use my background in Psychology to administer Money Assessments to help my clients identify how their money habits originated (from parents, peers, traumatic experiences, emotional responses, etc.) while understanding how to overcome “bad” money habits.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is an entrepreneur’s toy store. This city has so much hustle and ambition and to tell you the truth, it’s highly contagious. I think anyone with a business idea and a good mentor can have a successful business in Atlanta.
It’s not always about reinventing the wheel. Sometimes, it can be as simple as creating a better mouse-trap or finding a gap in the market. Either way, Atlanta is the place to do it.
