Gina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in the beauty industry. My father and mother owned a Beauty Supply house in Pitts Penn in 1964. My parents moved to Ga in 1979 and my mother (Robbie Conwell) opened All -N- 1 beauty supply which is still currently open (36yrs) later. My mission is to empower every woman through inner and outer beauty. My passion for selling hair extensions started when I became a delivery sales representative in my mother’s business servicing salons with professional products. The joy I got from meeting stylist’s, educating them and receiving education on hair products to better serve people going through hair loss gave me fulfillment. I then saw the need and demand for hair extensions as a stylist would ask for hair products to stop balding or thinning hair on their clients. I started researching where I could find the highest quality of hair to make Wigs. Once I was sure I had the highest hair quality in the extension industry. I started customizing full lace wigs, other hair pieces for Alopecia, cancer patients and customers who desired to enhance their appearance. I then started Desired Extensions Inc. Atlanta Ga in 2009, to continue helping those in need of adding fullness to their own hair or just wanting a new look. We added 100% Virgin Indian wefted hair to our company for our clients wanting sew-ins for length, texture or a color change with- out altering your natural hair.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I wish I could say it was a smooth road, but starting any venture will have its challenges. It took me 4 years of time & money researching to find the best Virgin Indian hair out of India. Once I finally found the Indian hair company the next challenge was marketing. Through the challenges, you learn a lot about yourself and also gain patience if you don’t have any.

I personally define success not from a career but from your relationship with family & friends. Success is fulfilling what makes you happy as well as others. For some people it’s completing school, starting a career or getting married. For me it’s fulfilling someone else’s needs and in return, I feel successful.
