Today we’d like to introduce you to Cole Tidwell.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was born in a small town in Flordia called Marianna. I got my start running audio at my local church as an intern. About two years in my wife, children, and I moved up to Atlanta seeking a fresh start. I started contracting with local A/V companies. This is where I first discovered my love for video. I spent all my free time working small animations and videos. I finally saved up enough money to purchase a real camera and that’s when my love of photography really took off to where I am today.
Please tell us about your art.
I like to capture the scenes as they are. That means little to no changing the environment around me to better suit my photos. I also want people to learn to take in the beauty of the world around them. Whether it be natural or manmade.
Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
It honestly doesn’t take a super high-end camera to capture amazing work. For example, I’ve seen musicians with $300 guitars absolutely kill it, while the next acts come up with all this fancy gear and they lack soul and or skill. The gear doesn’t define the work.
