Today we’d like to introduce you to Latoya Walthour.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Latoya. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I am a professional freelance model from Valdosta Georgia. I have been traveling the area of Atlanta and north Florida area for five years. I have been published in several magazines over the years. I have been three hard copy ones ex-queen size magazine out of new york and encore HD out of Atlanta Georgia.
I had work Bonner brothers in Atlanta and walked in new york fashion week shows the last three years for several different designers in walk fashion and two years in small boutique of new york. I started modeling five years ago after my basketball career was ended by knee injury out of high school. I’m a mother of one Harnoni Mcnair (12) but raised my stepdaughter Keyasia Mcnair.
I’m a single mom at the time as well as a teacher of prek for last years. I love playing drums in church, singing, talking on the phone, traveling and taking pictures. I’m 37 years old with the drive of an 18-year-old. I love what I do and want to continue to be a full-time model traveling the world. I mentor you women bout how to love them self as they are. Me and my photographers have been working hard last few years to build my brand to be successful.
Thanks to Eric j crimes from Atlanta for being there, in the beginning, the past earlier this year with cancer, beau brogan from Valdosta, Keiton green from Macon, and last but not least my mentor which moved last year manilla boys of kays way. Model, the realist, is a small county girl with big city girl dreams. Grind until you are happy with our end. My goal is to build young women up cause I wish it had this as a child.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road has not been easy, lack of support, money, my weight, car trouble at times, no connection, being a single mom and my age has hindered my career being a signed model.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
My drive and dedication separate me from rest. I see what in want and go for it regardless. I build up young women and promote photographer and designers. I specialize in runway promotional and photography.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Being all-state players oh the tear for 1A in basketball. Being top players in the whole school in all sports. I won several metals. Signing with Darrin college even after knee surgery such a blessing
