Life and Work with Lina Kim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lina Kim.

Lina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am passionate about living a healthy balanced life. I love sharing healthy recipes, wellness tips, workouts, fun things to do around ATL or anything I find that helps me move forward every day.

I really started my blog and Instagram page to share my journey through the whole30, which is a 30-day program that educates you about food and eating clean. I truly noticed and felt the difference in my mind and body and wanted to share why food is the basis of being healthy and indeed medicine. Evolved from there, I started to develop simple healthy recipes and quick easy meal ideas for busy adults. I also share some lifestyle posts in between to give more personality.

Fitness has also become an important part of my journey. One of the most helpful things was joining group fitness classes. It has helped me become more social, active, and actually, enjoy my workouts. It also helps to make friends as a young adult in a big city.

Finding a balance is not easy; it may not be even possible at times. However, I believe that the harmony of kindness and tough self-love help us achieve our biggest goals. Hence, I will always strive for that balance.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think the best advice is, to be honest with yourself. Most of the times when I am struggling with something, I know what to do but choose not to listen to my inner voice. Listen to yourself and be honest. Honesty is my number one policy with myself and others.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am currently a full-time PharmD student. Prior to starting the doctorate program, I worked at a pharmaceutical company specializing in the development of autologous cellular immunotherapy drug. I love science and the idea of helping people in need. I want to combine that and my passion for health and wellness to build my brand and business in the future.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
I absolutely LOVE networking. It has been the best part of having a blog and Instagram platform. It has connected me with so many amazing friends and brands that I respect and adore.
