Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawny Swain.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mind. While I pursued my modeling career, I learned I had a true talent for branding and marketing, Other models would always come to me with tips to streamline their image and grow their following. Having a degree in Music Business, I originally pursued a business model targeting musicians. I provided graphic design, product design, distribution, and a breakdown of sales. I loved working in the music industry but at the end of the day, it was just too much of a niche market. However, this was the planting of the seed of what is now Swain Productions.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The ride has not been so easy, but that is the beauty of it! I’ve learned to appreciate every downfall and not take myself too seriously. You have to be willing to make the sacrifices. You can’t be afraid of investing in yourself because no one else will. Time management is important. Setting goals is important. As far as advice for women, be firm in your talents and your brand identity. People always think because I am young and I am a woman, everything I say is negotiable or I’m not doing something “right.” Earn respect by sticking to your guns.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Swain Productions – what should we know?
Swain Productions is a one-stop shop for growing a business. We analyze data, develop brand identity, curate content, and set up individuals and businesses with targeted ads and other marketing tools. I am most proud of providing guidance and content that makes other people successful. Helping others solidify their identity will never go out of style. My business is different from others because we make it personal. We take the time to really understand you, your goals, and truly love building lasting relationships with our clients.
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
Especially living in Atlanta, I see women providing opportunities for other women more than ever before. I believe there are resources for a woman that can help and inspire us to be successful. Just starting a discussion of the glass ceiling has brought so much change for us. I think it is important to embrace womanhood. Walk in a room and say “I am a woman, hear me roar!” I think women want to thrive in a diverse workforce, so I hope to see more of that in the future.
