Meet Adrian “Pnut” Steward of NutRageous Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian “Pnut” Steward.

Adrian “Pnut”, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Just two years ago I was working a desk job that I no longer enjoyed. I would ask my mom, lol she still runs my life, if I could quit or not because I was not working towards my goals, Then I got fired! So yea God just pushed me out without moms approval.

I hustled hard as hell to connect with people in production so that they could hire me because I knew that’s what I had to do. I was wrong! It’s more about creating your own stuff to get started with what you want to do. I created my first short film shortly after receiving so many no’s because I didn’t have experience. So I created my own experience and did everything from producing and acting to being my own PA. That’s how my production company got started. I’m doing this to help others start what they haven’t received the opportunity to do yet.

I don’t care if someone’s last job was a Cook and they’ve decided they want to try film, I will find them something to do if I have a film I’m working on. That’s success.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No! Money and time. It’s hard trying to make films and act without enough money on your own. I never wanted to go back working 40-45 hours a week to survive and still go after my dreams. So I worked three different part-time jobs to make enough for rent. Along the way, I’ve met some great people and we all help each other instead of paying too much to have things completed.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about NutRageous Productions – what should we know?
NutRageous Productions teams up with other self-starting film companies to create projects. The company takes volunteers for various roles such as PA, script supervisors, locations, and sound and look for postings and other film productions looking to fill those roles. It’s a small company where we want everyone to get that start they need. NutRageous was named after me, Pnut and because on set, I’m always the one making the environment fun and productive. I’ve held several titles on set and work hard so that companies and other production companies get a feel of what type of crew we will offer.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Faith and Humbleness. You have to believe that what you want will happen if you work hard at it. Also be humble enough to know circumstances could change everyday. If you could help someone, then do that!
