Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Rose.
Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Marietta, GA. Graduated from the University of Kennesaw State with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. I practiced nursing for a little short of three years until one day I found my love, real estate. From the moment I landed my first renovation project, I knew I had found my passion. Before I knew it, I was buying houses with my life savings and selling them for a profit. After a few projects and encouragement from my real estate mentor I got my real estate license and decided to help others buy and sell real estate too. I figured if I could buy houses and sell them, I could help anyone do it. And thus, I fell deeper in love. I was able to teach, inspire, and help others to achieve their goals while nurturing my hunger to tackle real estate by the horns.
Has it been a smooth road?
About a year after graduating, I was settling in nicely to what I thought was the perfect position as an ICU nurse, working on a unit I loved with co-workers that felt like a second family. Life was good. I was just finishing up the renovation I undertook on my first home purchase at the age 25.
Once I moved in something happened, a fire had sparked inside of me. I began to read and study more about real estate and investing and decided to ask my boss to go part time so I could become a real estate investor. I wanted to buy houses, fix them, and then resale them. She said… “No”, I had not been on the unit long enough yet. I was devastated, hurt even…but decided not to take No for an answer. About three months later, I found a way and began working as a Float ICU Nurse, which allowed me to work as little or as much as my schedule allowed. It wasn’t long before I had purchased another home using all of my savings and renovations where underway. I would come to discover that that “No” may have been the key that opened the door to my dreams.
The biggest struggle thus far has been making a transition into real estate as my full-time career. When I decided to get my real estate license, I had no clue the hours, dedication, and learning that be necessary to become a successful Realtor and investor. I had gone from working three twelve hour shifts making good money as a nurse… to working seven twelve hour days as a real estate agent wondering when the heck my next paycheck was coming! My first six months were really challenging, I only sold one house, and my broker gave me that client! But the next year, 2018, would be my first full year and was a game changer. Those closest to me had encouraged me to keep pushing, and I began to put all the new knowledge I had learned to good use. I saw the relationships I had cultivated begin to blossom. By the time December rolled around, I looked up and had sold over 30 houses in my first full year of real estate!
