Meet Hakim Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hakim Lopez.

Hakim, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Lithonia GA, where I first started boxing in the amateurs. Winning tournaments and ranking in the country when I got old enough I earned my way to fight in the Olympic trails for 2016 and after I turned pro in 2018. Now I am currently 5-0-5ko’s and still counting.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, I believe and understand that smooth roads to where I want to be at in my sport don’t exist. I’ve had countless setbacks like injuries and sometimes not have enough money to make it to the big fights so I had to wait patiently and overall I keep my head up and always move forward I’m no stranger to the rough road that’s why being a world champion is destined for me.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a professional boxing out of Atlanta GA and I am my business. I fight at light heavyweight with a record of 5-0-5ko’s I train out of my dads boxing gym (Granite City Boxing & Fitness) in Ellenwood GA. I’m a very focused and dedicated person I can say that’s what I specialize in my hard work in and out the right with my life and career sets me apart from many I’m a different breed. One thing I can say I’m most proud of is having a great team around me that helps motivate and keep me strong haven a great circle in this sports keeps the bumpy roads unnoticed.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I only have one plan for my future in my career and that’s becoming world champion and stay there for as long as I can.
