Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Williams-Watson.
Erica, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
On countless occasions, I gladly leant my talents to anyone expressing a need for assistance and guidance in the planning of their special events. After earning an Accounting Degree and MBA, I worked in corporate America for many years. The excitement of designing and becoming an event designer never faded. I made the decision to pursue my passion and share my creativity with those looking for event designs for all occasions.
After much early client satisfaction, it quickly became apparent that my Accounting & Business background would be a major asset of PEK Designs & Events. Creating one of a kind, customized events while understanding and working within the client’s budget is a value in which PEK Designs & Events’ success is deeply rooted in.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest challenge with event design is budget restrictions. Social Media provides so many gorgeous options for event décor, but the associated cost may not be realistic. I work with the client to give them a similar look as their “inspiration photos”, within their budget.
Please tell us about PEK Designs & Events.
PEK Designs and Events provides décor for personal and corporate events. I love designing and infusing a client’s personal flair with the PEK’s professional style. More importantly, I love celebrating life’s momentous events. Whether it’s the look on groom’s face when he sees his bride for the first time or a mother-to-be at her baby shower. You can literally feel the love in the room.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have invested more time in social media education, tips, and tools. I think it’s the key to reaching the masses.
