Today we’d like to introduce you to William Bryant.
William, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I always felt like I had a talent for speaking, or maybe even acting and modeling. In high school, I was in drama class and attended different acting workshops.
When I got in college I didn’t do much acting anymore. My first year of college, while attending Johnson C. Smith University, I started hosting shows for an entertainment organization. After my first year, I transferred to Kennesaw State University, where I joined a modeling organization that taught me more about fashion, the art of taking pictures, and how to walk on the runway.
After learning about the different aspects of modeling, acting, etc, I decided to pursue my dreams in my own way and create a fashion and lifestyle page on Instagram that inspires and teaches black men how to dress well and have confidence in their style. Now, I have created a YouTube channel, as well, to do the same. I basically create my different videos that show my vision, but also incorporate my acting and modeling skills.
Ultimately, I aspire to be a model for print, commercials, and magazines and eventually create a brand for myself. I am working towards that now by networking and collaborating with other brands.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been easy so far. When I first got out of college, I interviewed with many modeling agencies, but they wanted to charge me a lot of money that I didn’t have at the time.
Not knowing the culture or how that worked I asked my cousin, who was already a signed model, about it. He basically said that I shouldn’t have to pay agencies to sign me, so I decided it would be better to go a different route initially. Growing my Instagram hasn’t been easy either. Finding the time and focus to create consistent content that’s quality for people to see is something that can be difficult while having a job that requires a lot of travel and not having the things I need to create the material. It also became hard to find the availability to meet up with photographers and videographer to shoot content.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Trey Bryant – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am Trey Bryant. A mens fashion and lifestyle influencer. I have an Instagram account that promotes fashion, confidence in men, and grooming and learning about your style. I collaborate with other brands that share my vision to create a bigger brand for myself and create more influence. What sets me apart, I think, is my uniqueness, positivity, and open mind. I’m super collaborative so I love creating new ideas with people. I’m most proud of the quality of my content and I hope to make more. The goal is to continue to reach as many people as possible and for my brand to be known around the world.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like the most is that we have so much opportunity. I can literally go on eventbrite on any day of the week, and there are always so many networking events and parties. It’s really easy to meet people here. I also love that there are so many nice places to eat here. What I like least about Atlanta is the traffic.
