Meet Cassandra Dallman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Dallman.

Cassandra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Cassandra Dallman Photography preciously known as Designer Choice Photography. I absolutely love photography; it’s my passion!! It’s a God-given talent he has blessed me with. I give honor to God because he has taught me what to do and how to edit each image to bring out its full beauty.

I’ve been shooting for years and began professionally in 2007. My dream is to shoot Still Photography in the movie industry. I’ve had many wonderful opportunities, but my greatest experience so far is obtaining red carpet media credentials for The 20th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration in Atlanta, GA 2019 and meeting and shooting pictures of Bill Cosby at the Norsk Hostafest in Minot, ND in 2013. I shoot on location and bring our portable studio to you. I love capturing newborns, portraits, weddings, red carpet events, live recording, etc. I love creativity it’s one thing to shoot the image but it’s another to be creative with what you captured.

I must admit there were times I wanted to give up and did a few times because other things in life got in the way but I overcame them by my faith in Jesus Christ and I knew this amazing gift God blessed me with would make room for me because I have cultivated it for years. When I decided to relaunch my business I didn’t really know where to start all I knew was to do what I could and God would provide the rest. In December 2018, I vowed that I would start in January 2019 I’m going to do something I’ve never done before. I had a new logo made, I revamped my website, I made an account on Facebook and Instagram, and placed my 1st ad in Mike’s Shoppers Magazine which will reach 30,000 homes. My ad is in the February issue and will run the next three months. After that I bought my dream lens for my camera.

The whole month of January I keep hearing the word “SUDDENLY” in my spirit and I said “God you blessed me with this amazing gift of photography and I’m giving it back to You to use for Your glory.” My caption is “Beautifully Creative” I want to share my gift and make a full-time career out of it. I’m a believer it’s never too late to try again and when the timing is right it will happen. I see people in the way God sees them in the creativity of love. Some of my work to name a few include The Trumpet Awards Red Carpet Events, A Live Recording  of The Anointed Pace Sisters “Access Granted”, some of my images appeared on OWN Iyanla Fix My Life, and they also appeared in The Atlanta Tribune Magazine (Pat Lottier), etc.  I’m looking forward to my future!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been smooth, I have had a lot of ups and downs; unfortunately, life does not always let you go in the path you would love to follow. Some of the challenges I have had to overcome are people not valuing my work and not always being compensated for my services and time. I got trapped in the area of working for almost nothing and my equipment is very expensive . People also don’t realize the countless hours of dedication to my craft of photography. I have also been turned down for various event work. And always have a problem with how much I should charge someone because I am always trying to accommodate.
