Today we’d like to introduce you to Priya Crumpton.
Priya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always loved the spa experience! My family had a tech business in ATL for several years, and after we sold it, I knew the spa industry was where my heart was. Helping people to relax and make them feel good about themselves was really what I wanted to do.
I started Sweet Life Skincare (named after my favorite Italian phrase ‘la dolce vita’) in 2013 while I enrolled in esthetic school in Atlanta. While in school, I blogged about key ingredients, skincare treatments, and inspirational anecdotes about skin. I loved educating my readers about what I was learning in school, and sharing my passion for Skincare.
Right out of school, I opened up my business on Canton Street in Roswell. My husband and I lived in Marietta at the time but loved the sense of community and culture in Roswell. I think I had 3 clients starting out, and one of them was my mother! Nevertheless, I showed up everyday and was blessed enough to have more and more clients every week. My little business got its legs and turned into something real! Within a year, I outgrew my space and moved to a new location with 3 rooms.
Today, I am more and more in love with Sweet Life Skincare and our amazing clients! I feel so lucky to be doing what I love and helping my clients love themselves too.
Has it been a smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur always has its struggles. I think if you aren’t struggling, you aren’t growing! The most important thing is to believe in yourself and what you are doing. I believe Skincare is a passion business, and you absolutely have to love it in order to succeed. I think every entrepreneur will say the same.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sweet Life Skincare story. Tell us more about the business.
Sweet Life Skincare really focuses on a non-invasive approach to Skincare. Key treatments that we do are: customized facials, brightening treatments/peels, Microcurrent, and Micro channeling. Most of our clients come in because they have a skin condition that they have been trying to correct. We really strive to educate our clients how to get their skin in optimal health through professional treatments and a home care routine. We do skin analysis for every facial treatment so we can track progress, and make sure our clients really understand how to care for their skin even when they aren’t with us.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The skin care industry is constantly evolving! Every year there are new technologies and ingredients surfacing, and I think that will continue to be the case. I do believe there will continue to be a trend towards seeking out non-invasive approaches to skincare.
