Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheyenna Taylor.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started painting and sketching in elementary school. I had this art teacher who inspired me and pushed me during that time as well before he passed of cancer. I had a few lessons but, I am mostly self-taught. I moved to Atlanta in 2016, which is when I started to really pursue my art.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not. A year ago I was definitely at a point of giving up. I lost everything I worked for in a split second and wanted to move back home to Columbus, GA. I was so used to having my own. Having to sleep couch to couch or in my car was not what I had in mind at all. Thank God for good friends though.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Art by Taylor Made – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My art is something that speaks for the new millennial generation. Ninety’s babies may be the more familiar term. I also want my art to speak for women . I usually paint with acrylics, but I have been venturing out to other mediums such as fabric paint, prisma coloring pencils, and watercolors. Some of my paintings are on hoodies. I made about ten sales my first month (October ’18). I didn’t even expect that, even though it seem not much. It gave me my first dose of entrepreneurship and this adrenaline rush to keep going. I want to put on canvases or clothing, what other people are afraid or hesitant to do. I believe all art should have a message within itself. I also have hosted a few sip and paints and am looking forward to more events this upcoming year!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love this city. The people here are dope. I have only been here for about two years and it has helped me grow tremendously, Most people don’t mind lending out a helping hand or free knowledge. The food doesn’t hurt either.
The traffic I mean that is self-explanatory, but I live in the city now so I adapted pretty quickly.
