Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Knowles.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Michael. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Throughout my life, I always seem to feel invisible as well as being overweight but during my years I was able to have the discipline to lose weight and become a model that will inspire those that it doesn’t always pertain to your size. I believe that all shapes and sizes are beautiful to embark that there shouldn’t be a required look. So I created a personal modeling agency to where I do different and unique concepts and themes that explore the mind of an artist.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey of becoming a model as well as an entertainer, it was very bumpy to where I felt at times that I should give up because I felt that every time I took one step, I got pushed back another 50 along with not having a supportive team to motivate me to push through. I was the only artist in my family so in the first stages of starting my career people were very negative towards my visions the only people who really had my back was God and my mother.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about ThickBoy Chronicles – what should we know?
My business is called the ThickBoy Chronicles. It is a personal modeling agency that I created to provide artistic unique and eclectic genres of modeling to where oneself can be adaptive to any atmosphere; it can be artistic, editorial, commercial, dance like, urban, risqué; I wanted to create a versatile mindset to where I can morph into anything and I’m known greatly for my work. The thing that I’m most proud of is that people who have an eye for art they really take my pictures in as inspiration and motivation in terms of me being so free and uninhibited and that is what sets me apart from others I’m not afraid of anything.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My main quality and characteristic about my craft is I’m very consistent and determined and overall I am an artist and I’m very aggressive to get my work out there for the public to see because even though that I show fictional concepts I also show truth.
