Meet Trailblazer Victoria Bailey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Bailey.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Victoria. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Baltimore, Maryland but had the pleasure of living all over the country. My father served about thirteen years in the Army which made us relocate often, but thankfully, we were able to set roots in Augusta, Georgia and that’s where I attended middle and high school.

When I got to high school, I transitioned from being a tomboy to loving all things girly- hair, nails, skin and most certainly makeup! Before I knew it, I was doing all of my friend’s hair and makeup for all of our social event. As most teenagers do, I started struggling with acne. I found myself trying a lot of different products and treatments to help, and that was the start of my obsession with skin care.

After high school, I wasn’t 100% sure which career path I wanted to take. So, I auditioned for the 2013 Atlanta Braves Tomahawk Team, and made it! I had the pleasure of cheering on the Braves for two amazing years. Throughout those two years, I still found myself being passionate about skincare and helping my teammates with their beauty regiments.

Although I would have loved to cheer on the Braves forever, I knew I had to get my career started. Thankfully my brilliant mother, who is a Physicians Assistant, encouraged me to look into Esthetician School.

I graduated from The Elaine Sterling Institute in 2015 and shortly after, landed my first esthetics job at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta where I worked for two years. As much as I loved working at the Mandarin, I knew in my heart, I wanted to be a Medical Esthetician. In 2017, I got certified to be an Assistant Laser Practitioner and started working part-time at Dermani Medspa. Less than a year later, I was brought on as a full-time employee and shortly after promoted to Clinical Director of Dermani Medspa in Vinings! I love this company and it brings me true happiness to help my clients look and feel they’re most beautiful inside and out.

Has it been a smooth road?
It certainly hasn’t always been a smooth road… I had my doubts and struggles along the way, but it’s life right? It’s not always easy. Thankfully, I have a strong support system who has helped me keep my eye on the prize. To anyone who is unsure which path to take, I encourage you to keep searching and to never settle! The good stuff in life doesn’t always come easy.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am the Clinical Director of Dermani Medspa in Vinings. We are a membership-based Medspa with six locations in the greater Atlanta area. We offer laser and skincare services such as Microneedling, Hydrafacial, Chemical Peels, Dermaplaning, Microdermabrasion, Laser Hair Removal, and IPL. I pride myself in educating my clients about their skin and going above and beyond to help them achieve their individual goals.

I believe my customer service skills and extensive knowledge are what truly set me apart. Looking back, I have been practicing customer service skills my whole life. From having to move and adapt as a military child, to working in professional baseball, and then in a luxury hotel environment. I believe these experiences have taught me how to handle a large number of situations, and how to clearly communicate with everyone.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I absolutely do! The experiences that stick out to me the most are the mission trips I went on when I was in high school. My mother, brother, and I went to Haiti three separate times. During these trips, we installed water purification systems, built playgrounds, ran a medical clinic, and most importantly spread the word of Jesus.

These trips put my selfish teenage life into perspective and taught me that no matter how hard I thought I had it, I had something these people would never have… opportunity. To this day, I carry that with me, and it fuels my fire to be the very best I can be and to take advantage of every opportunity!

So very proud of my beautiful (inside & out) granddaughter! Thanks for giving her some of the recognition she has earned. She’s a world traveler, unafraid to face new challenges & meet new people. She’s also quick to lend a hand at gatherings, not sit back, expecting to be waited on.

Being in the spa business myself we did all sorts of skincare treatments including oxygen facials. Every woman wants beautiful and health skin. Congratulations on your accomplishments in the field. A very beautiful lady which sets the example of her occupation. Good Luck.
