Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamal Brown.
Jamal, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I wrote a book named 26 Miles. It’s currently being edited and formatted. It took me three years to complete the book. The book contains all my thoughts based on every situation I’ve experienced in life thus far. Life is a marathon. Ups and downs along the way. To stay sane, you have to simply “Pace Yourself” and stay clear of sprinters who take the easy route in life. Book will be available for purchase early March.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It wasn’t easy. I gave up on the book many times. I doubted anyone would actually read it. I was my biggest critic and I was in my own way. I let a few close friends read a few excerpts and they loved what they read. That gave me the motivation to finish even though I doubted myself.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with 26 Miles – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am mostly proud of myself. I actually started with an attainable goal. I started writing this book and I finished it. I’m proud of myself. Through the trials and tribulations I kept my end goal in sight. It’s one thing to start something, but it’s another to actually finish it.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to just hit the road town to town and sell my books and tell my story to whomever is willing to listen. BrotherBrown will be a household name. I will write my way out of the struggle!
