Meet Arianna Elizabeth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arianna Elizabeth.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Freshman year, I started out as a Business major at Valdosta State University. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do at the time, but being as most of my family had degree’s in Business Administration, I figured if I ran into any questions they would at least be able to help me. I (very) soon discovered that my heart was much more in the Arts. It was a bit nerve-wracking feeling that my family may judge me for wanting to “take pictures” rather than be some type of STEM major, but surprisingly and to my hearts relief, they were and still have been extremely supportive of it! Sophomore year I officially changed my major to Fine Arts and currently I now am one quarter away from completing my Master’s in Fine I actually never wanted to photograph weddings.

The thought of possibly missing one of the many crucial moments to capture during a wedding was extremely intimidating. So starting out I swore I would only ever photograph fashion portraiture. However, after interning with one of my most admired wedding photographers Anna K, my perspective on weddings totally changed! I now actually prefer capturing all of the love and joy and beauty such an elaborate and special celebration has to offer! Arts from SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design).

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh, it definitely has not been a smooth road haha…. but nothing worth having ever does. I’ve run into many of the ‘a photographer’s worst nightmare’ situations such as: 1. Where is my second shooter 2. Oh God, the bride is seriously upset but we have to make her happy again for these photos AND it has to be genuine otherwise we WILL be able to tell.. 3. Did the videographer seriously just step in front of me of my camera at during the entire kiss?! (And yes, I had to ask them to kiss again. it was painful.) 4. Getting to the wedding and realizing that my dog had chewed and destroyed 7 out of 10 of my memory cards but not noticing it before I left because he chewed them while they were wrapped up together!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Arianna Elizabeth Photography – what should we know?
Arianna Elizabeth Photography is a wedding, portraiture, and lifestyle photography business that was started way back when I was an undergrad in 2006. It became an official LLC in 2010. We specialize in weddings but love photographing all things, love… particularly using as much natural light as possible! We pride ourselves on capturing the sweetest moments as true to life as possible. We honor a bright, clean, organic aesthetic that mirrors the individual!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My dad is literally my absolute biggest fan. He’s believed in my dreams and ventures since the moment I mentioned it. He is always there to encourage me and has gifted me with much of my necessary equipment! He sends me articles and ideas and advice DAILY… sometimes multiple times a day! To be honest, he actually just texted me about twenty minutes ago haha…
