Meet Elise Redmond of Lashed By E in Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elise Redmond.

Elise, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I moved to Atlanta in 2016 in dyer need of change. I left everything I knew and family in Chicago for a fresh start. I was working as a nanny for about a year and unfortunately, I was let go. Before I was let go, I took a certification class to become a certified Lash Tech. At the time it was only to make extra money. Once I was let go, I told myself that I would never give another person the control over my income ever again.

I started “LashedByE’ from the ground up. After practicing on my friends for a couple of weeks, I went right into a salon to try to gain clientele. That salon didn’t work out so well but, I was determined to perfect my craft and thats exactly what I did. I finally found a salon home & started really going hard for my brand. I wanted to give up so many times but I knew what had to be done and I wasn’t giving up. Over the months, I started gaining loyal clientele & making ends meet. I eventually left the salon I was at for quite some time & started working in my very own Salon Suite. I launched my LashedByE Product line and my brand really took off. I am so happy that I didn’t give up because now I’ve almost been in business for three years and I have so many great things in store for 2019.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh Gosh, NO! I had so many trial and tribulations when I first started. As I stated earlier, I was let go from my previous job so I didn’t really have much money. I was still fairly new to Atl when I started my business so I didn’t know too many people so gaining clientele was very hard. I would go weeks without having any clients which means not making any money but I knew with my trust in God that everything would work out. Thank God for my supporting family and friends who helped me out as much as they can along the way. Entrepreneurship isn’t easy and you will have your ups and downs but as long as you keep your eye on the prize, you will overcome every obstacle with faith & prayer.

Lashed By E – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I started LashedByE May 2016, I specialize in eyelash extension applications. I also have a LashedByE product collection and apparel line. I am known for my great work ethics, my energy, and my caring soul. I’ve built so many different relationships with my clients. Some of my clients have helped me grow in so many ways. I am so proud of the growth of my business, three years ago I couldn’t imagine being where I am today. I’m so proud of myself for staying consistent and fighting through all of my struggles that come with running a business. I think what sets me apart from others is my work ethic, time management and my desire to fulfill each of my clients look with each application in a healthy way.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My definition of success is doing what I love and being happy while doing it. I have so many goals for my business and that fact that I’m able to check them off in such a timely manner is what success is all about in my eyes. Making money is one thing but being able to be my own boss is pretty successful in my book.
