“A vibrator,” said me as a high-school graduate opening a gift from my Mother prior to starting college in Atlanta. Well, let me give you the long story in a short version as it is quite interesting how I got to this point. When I graduated from high school to start college, most students receive money, a car, laptop or something to the extent. Me, on the other hand, I received a vibrator from my Mother because she did not want me to seek pleasure from someone moving to Atlanta (from Little Rock, AR) and wanted me to explore myself and stay sexually safe. During my undergrad, I studied chemistry have focusing on public health and volunteers in local Atlanta organizations to discuss about HIV/AIDs prevention and testing. During that time, I wanted to start with Pure Romance, however, as a college student, I was broke…but always kept it in the (mental) rolodex to revisit later. Over the years I have expanded my knowledge in the project management industry and decided to revisit the idea of starting with Pure romance.
Well, during the ice storm in December 2017, I decided to remove the mental barrier of what people would say and think and started this business combining my public health and sexual interest in Pure Romance and revamping my passion for dance as an adult while encompassing my project management experience. That is when the ah-ha moment occurred to combine the two industries under one platform to offer to women in the metro Atlanta area. By offering intimacy products through Pure Romance and sensual dance classes with Sexify (dance program through PolelaTeaz) to help the everyday woman create her Xperience from the boardroom to the bedroom…hence The Vixen Xperience was curated in 2018. “Vixen” came about because everyone woman is beautiful and sexy and in her own way. By helping each woman that I come in contact help to enhance her inner sexiness outward, she is not conforming to what society states as “sexy” because she already possesses it. And “Xperience” stemmed from ensuring that each person has a unique experience when working with me.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Honestly, I was afraid to start this journey due to the side eyes, scowls and more that I would receive about talking about sex, a subject that is taboo and risqué especially with Pure Romance as the business only sells vibrators or about “female rendezvous”. However, there is a big misconception about the Pure Romance, only 30% of the products are intimacy pleasure items and 70% is more on the emphasis of bath, beauty, massage, aromatherapy, and now essential oils, so breaking that stigma is a constant challenge. But people just have to be educated. It (Pure Romance) really is more to it than just SEX…the company focuses on all-around women’s wellness.
Another challenge being getting back into dancing as an adult, and with sensual fitness style dancing that was another challenge to overcome. There is misconception that sensual dance has to all about “shaking your ass” as we see depicted on media, film, etc. however, sensual is a beautiful art form of dancing that does not require taking off your clothes and allows you to embrace your inner beauty outward…just with more hip rolls and slow movements. Lastly, The biggest challenge that I had to conquer is constantly getting out of my own way and not allowing fear to diminish my capabilities, education and keeping it sexy, baby.

My clients have termed me as “The Intimacy Consultant” because I ensure that I cater to their personal needs and provide solutions to help them create their Xperience either with use of products, how to create a comfortable environment for exploring new things, or challenges they may be experiencing and some direction to help aid the concern. Under the Vixen Xperience platform, I help women create their Xperience from the boardroom to the bedroom by providing high-quality sensual, wellness, and intimacy pleasure products as well as sensual dance fitness classes to help focus on physical, mental and sexual wellness. I do so by through one-on-one consultations, in-home parties, vendor events, and curated special events such as Sip and Shops, Couples Massage Workshop, Bridal Showers, Bachelorette parties and more.
I am most proud of a few things with my company:
1. The lasting relationships that are developed because they entrust me to provide a service and/or product that can help enhance their sensuality and sexuality,
2. How I can help education women on their sexual wellness in a fun, comfortable environment,
3. Instilling in women that they are sexy and not allowing society to dictate what “sexiness” is….that is what makes each woman a vixen by simply owning their sexiness.
What I (personally) believes sets me apart is: I am no IG model, I have blemishes and stretch marks (aka beauty marks), I get exhausted with my corporate America practice (as a Project Manager) and side hustles, I am constantly focusing on my overall wellness, I am ME! Under my platform, I want to ensure that every woman knows that in the midst of juggling everything in her life, it is ok to get back to the basics (and with assistance) to focus on self-love (first), create special moments with their significant others, keep it sweet and spicy in the bedroom, explore new things, promoting each woman to own her sexiness, take care of their temple and of course…take care of their vagina, just as I am as well.
My platform encompasses a “one stop boutique” focusing on your physical wellness (through sensual dance, smell good products, and orgasms help with better sleep and appearance), mental wellness (practicing self-love, self-care, use of essential oils, and how orgasms help your mental state), and sexual wellness (educating on kegel exercises, sexual response cycle and how orgasms help with your sexual wellness). It is all about balance….literally.
What were you like growing up?
Everyone always told me that I had an “old soul”, due to my early upbringing around my grandmother, and great-grandmother, that I would hear until recently because of my mature thinking, my personal and aura. My Mom would always tell that I have the term “I’ve already done that” because anytime she asked me if I had done something, I would respond with the “I’ve already done that”. Growing up, I tried a lot of things from playing sports such as basketball, to drill team and found my niche with dancing.
My favorite style of dancing is actually tap dancing with the syncopated rhythms, different sounds, and technique. As an ambivert and multi-potentialiate, I am the true definition of using both sides of my brain. The analytical side (left brain) focuses on the numbers, processes, and project management, and the creative side (right brain) loves to dance, skillful with putting things creatively together. I consider myself as a down-to-earth yet fiery (I’m a true Leo), observant, strong-willed and resilient from young me to present me.
