Today we’d like to introduce you to RealYungG.
Born in the city of Chicago, but now repping his hometown of Joliet, IL, Greg Collins Jr, better known as RealyungG found his love for music early. After many years of enjoying the music his parents exposed him to, G decided to start rapping at the age of 14. He is no stranger to making music, dropping his first album “Introduction of Yung G” back in 2009. Since then, RealYungG has released 10+ projects and toured all over the US. /since 2017 he has gained notoriety and developed a fan base for his unorthodox flow and unforgettable hooks. Steadily progressing, RealyungG has not only built the YGN brand (Yung Greatness Nation) but also a strong network of industry connections while remaining an independent artist with no major outside funding. So far G has had a strong start to 2019, releasing part 2 to his emotional roller coaster of an album entitled “Mixed Emotions.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to success is not always easy as I do a lot of praying studying of my craft. The music industry is an up and down industry so you have to stay on top of it at all times; rather it’s marketing or finding different ways to promote yourself as well as your brand. So I always try to reinvent myself when it comes to my music and my marketing of my brand.
Please tell us about GCS ENT/YGN Gang Ent.
I am the CEO of my own record label called YGN Gang ENT which means Yung Greatness nation I specialize in not only music but entrainment as a whole. What I am most proud of about my company is the fact that we are an independent label with zero backing from any major label and we are starting to touch the mainstream slowly but surely which is a blessing I do not take for granted. What sets us apart from other brands company’s and labels is that we are willing to work hard for everything we plan on being one of those company’s that’s gone be around for decades.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t do anything differently because I believe God has a plan for your life so everything you go through is a learning experience to help push you to the next level I say a lesson is a blessing.
