Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryce Morris.
Bryce, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a 19-year-old from Grayson GA, I started creating content from the get-go. I started off by taking pictures of myself with my favorite new outfits I would but and always had a passion for creating clothes so I started the process a few years ago. It took me a while to come up with RetroVert but I had around 2-3 other names for my brand. I created a few designs to get the company going and made a white tee to start off.
I released the brand in 2017 but it was a small release and later died off since I stopped pursuing it. A few years later my brother came to me wanting to start a creative company and how he liked my name RetroVert so we brought it back to life this year. The process bringing it back took around eight months with constant content creation and ideas we wanted to do but ultimately we got it to where we wanted it to be. Now we are growing our company to where we can inspire others like us.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road, being a creative company we have to constantly think of ideas that people haven’t done and by me being the head designer and content creator takes a lot of thought into the creative process. My brother does more of the business side of the company while I’m the creative side of making concepts for the company to show that we are a creative company.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the RetroVert story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a creative company. Right now we sell slides and hoodies that I designed but later this year we will show more conceptual things that can help inspire others creating a business. We are trying to expand into bigger things such as board games and other nonfashion types of things to help show that we are a creative company and not like those “another clothing brand” type of company. Our main thing is showing different concepts and being creative.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’ve had good luck with my company, the supporters and community help grow our company to where I couldn’t even ask for. I’ve never really had bad things happen to me when creating something because I always put my mind to it to where it happens how I want it to happen.
