Meet Yvonne Pearson of Melange Mode

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne Pearson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Yvonne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always loved African prints since I have an African mother from the Ivory Coast. My Father is Belgian, and I was also raised in France. My multi-racial upbringing shaped my personality and sense of style.

So, I decided to create a clothing line that reflects who I am. I started by incorporating the bold African prints into simple, structured, European fashion. I then started off on Etsy. I wanted to see if anyone else would be into my taste for fashion. The response was really nice, so I then opened up my own e-commerce. I continue to share my life and style on social media.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been easy to juggle my mother-of-four life and business. But dedication and passion always carries me through. I wake up early or work on Sundays creating content because I love it so much. I was recently faced with a health challenge, Lymphoma, which made it even more difficult to plug in to grow my business as much as I wanted to. These past two years have been a roller coaster. I think any wife, mother, healer, entrepreneur can relate. But when you love what you do, even the hardest challenges seem possible to overcome.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Melange Mode – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Melange Mode is a multicultural clothing line that focuses on merging cultures through fashion. Our mission is to have people from different cultural background to embrace not only their own beauty but the beauty and uniqueness of others as well. I am the owner. I specialize in designing the clothing line, managing it’s production process, connecting personally without unique customers, and having fun sharing my story. I am proud to have created something that truly reflects who I am. What sets me apart is that there are plenty of print designers who do this as a business. I do it as a true diary that exposes my cultural background.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta. I always say that Atlanta will always be my primary residence. I love the cultural diversity, the weather, the growth, and creative opportunities this city brings. But of course, with all this magic, it also brings the worst traffic. But besides the traffic, Atlanta has a really cool charm!
