Meet JaMarcus Toomer of Heet Atl in Little 5 Points

Today we’d like to introduce you to JaMarcus Toomer, Trendsetta.

Thanks for sharing your story with us JaMarcus. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since a young age, my brother and I have always had an interest in Hip Hop, sneakers, and the latest fashion trends. We grew up influenced by the notion that someone can tell a lot about you based upon how clean and fresh your sneakers were.

So my brother and I had a desire to always keep a fresh pair of sneakers! As we became older, we took our passion and created a brand that could influence others to be a part of the sneaker and fashion culture. Today, we have many artists and celebrities supporting our brand as well as the community, both locally and worldwide.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely been an uphill battle along the way, especially with creating a concept that could strategically influence the culture yet add versatility. While establishing our business, there were many financial hardships along the way. We had to learn about the industry and how to properly position ourselves to network with people who could add value to our efforts. Also, understanding the demand from our target market was trial and error in the initial process. I have definitely understood the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur. Wins and Losses.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Heet ATL is a buy, sell and trade sneaker store. We are open to buying selections and restoring sneakers. We are dedicated to providing a premier selection of sought out footwear and goods and we only carry authentic products. Currently, I am a rapper in the city of ATL who also owns my clothing brand, and I am also a brand ambassador for different companies to help market and spread the word about their brands. A couple of my assets that I am best known for are; my music, marketing brand, and ability to create events for like-minded individuals to network and collaborate with each other… from black-owned business owners to local rap artists. I am extremely proud of being able to market to various cultures and have a strong influence within my community. What sets us apart from others is that we are able to create a concept that can connect to different walks of life as well as circulate around both fashion, music, and entertainment.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is the perfect breeding ground for anyone that wants to market or produce ideas to create a foundation or name for themselves. Movies, TV, Radio, Fashion, Music, Entertainment, you name it, we got it, or we are in process to do so. Atlanta is one of the multi-cultured, versatile, and free-spirited cities. There are so many individuals who are looking to create and network here. For a business like ours, I wouldn’t want to start in any other city than Atlanta.

To anyone who is looking to build a brand or business, I recommend getting your face, your name out there immediately. You have to keep in mind that “No One Knows Who You Are”. This will keep your drive and intensity at its peak. Remember your hustle is everything and you will experience rain and pain before fame and gain. You must understand that you will lose friends and gain enemies. But you must also understand that there is a light at the end of every tunnel.
