Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray Baker.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After many years in marketing and sponsorship event coordination, we kept seeing a void in events and promotions. I would get a call from colleagues, friends of friends, asking if I would come in and help out with their event because not all of the details were being met and would end up doing the lion’s share of the work for someone else’s event. So I decided then, to set up my own event and promotion company and handle everything for our clients. Take care of every little detail so the client can actually enjoy their own event or party.

Every event and promotion is a unique experience where people come together and share a special moment in time, leaving an imprint, creating that WOW factor. Promotional Mojo wants to create experiences, not just another event.

We are always challenging our creative minds for new ideas, unique events to offer or to set up ourselves. We have had several events that are quickly gaining the reputation of “can’t miss events.”

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would not say it has been a rough road, just a lot of the same as a young business is gaining traction, getting the word out, networking, be above and beyond the competition. Atlanta is a busy city and so if you want to bring a crowd to your event, you better have something unique, fun and of course deliver on the experience.

We feel we are achieving that as our client list is growing, whether it’s a corporate event, charity or even a private event or party.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Promotional Mojo LLC – what should we know?
Promotional Mojo LLC is an event and promotions company. We create our own events. A couple of our events are: ValenWine a Chocolate & Wine Tasting Affair. This is an event to make Valentine’s fun again for everyone. Whether its couples, friends night out, girls night out, singles, an event for all to enjoy. Wines, gourmet chocolates, live music, gifts, and a fun night for everyone. We do unique events such as our Southern Bites Food and Dessert Tasting Competition. This was to help promote the up and coming caterers, promote their business and their specialties while every attendee enjoyed it all along with live music.

Promotional Mojo also does corporate events, private parties, charity events. Too many times there is 1 or 2 people in an office and they have to put together an entire event, client or employee appreciation type event. They never get to enjoy their own event because they have to take care of everything and stress about every detail. That is where we come in. We handle every little detail so you get to enjoy your own event, spend time with your colleques or your clients.

We manage the Dinner at the Depot Food Truck event for the City of Kennesaw. We handle every aspect of the event from set up to break down. Arrange the entertainment which always includes live music, take care of the sponsors and their needs and make sure the attendees have a great experience.

A lot of our events will include local musicians and that growing list is demonstrating how much musical talent there is in Atlanta.

The biggest thing that sets us apart is we know your event no matter what, is important to you. The size doesn’t matter to us, we make sure you are proud of the event, the promotion. We take care of every little detail, any stress. If it’s a private party, we even take care of greeting your guests at the door to welcome them so you don’t have to break away from your conversations. We take our client’s dreams and ideas and turn them into event realities.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
There is no way could we be where we are and on the path without a team, a village of supporters, mentors, advocates. The best compliment we get is from those that continue to spread the word because they tell you, “we believe in you and you deliver. You exceed the expectations every time.” Businesses and mentors such as Joe Badgett and his wife Teresa with Speedy Wiz Transport. Carol Thompson with the Brightside Newspaper believing in Promotional Mojo. Tracey Viars with Creative Results Inc helping with ideas, logo work has been invaluable. Jay Cunningham with Superior Plumbing and John Loud of Loud Security, every time we talk, I learn. Most of the time they don’t realize the lessons they are teaching me. Some of my biggest cheerleaders and are always promoting my business are dear close friendsSonja Hines and Ginger McGourk and Kristy Eddins. A lot of the local bands like the Chip Mcguire Band and of course, the members of the Kennesaw Business Association and other networking groups have been beyond helpful and valuable.

There are so many and it continues to grow and I cannot express enough thankfulness for the smallest things they do.
