Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Brown.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My mother worked from home as a hair stylist and I started to help her braid down at the age of eight years old.
Shortly after that, my stepfather got killed and she eventually introduced me to my biological father and his mom was an Entrepreneur and one of her business that was built and attached to her home was a hair salon.
The first day I meet her she gave me the keys to the salon and said I can have it.
I then took on an Entrepreneurs Spirit. She didn’t give me much information about the knowledge of business; she just gave me the keys. So from there, I began to fail at a lot of things in business and in life.
My mother got pregnant with me at the age of 10 and had me at 11.
I was pregnant at 16.
Married by 17.
Divorce by 19.
Married again by 23.
And through it all, I never stopped school or continuing education or give up my Entrepreneur spirit.
I ran a successful business with employees and found out that wasn’t for me.
I’ve traveled the world with Ann Marie as a hair stylist/Personal Assistant and the memories and time was good but I kept feeling something calling me Higher.
So I started to do Lashes and Making close to $1500 some days. I feel in love with lashes, it was a special love.
My clients and Atlanta Recruited me as a Lash Teacher.
But God kept tugging at me about speaking to young girls. And that became a big struggle for me because of self-doubt and being slightly antisocial.
However, everything ends up coming down at me all at once and before you know it I was doing both.
The Holy Spirit woke me up at 3 am in the morning gave me a whole vision and strategy of how he would start my market place ministry and who the people would be.
Now I’m a full-time lash Teacher and Empowerment speaker.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My Divorce at 19 was my biggest obstacle. While I was going through that divorce, I felt as if I was in hell. The Process was dragged out. And as I was moving forward I got pregnant by my current husband and at eight months the baby died in my stomach and I had to do a full delivery and prepare his memorial. Right After that while I was in Macon Ga for my State Board test for Cosmetology, I got a call from my Attorney that I lost the custody battle and that my son would be going to stay with his father full time. Then very shortly after that, I got into two car accidents in the same week. I felt broken.
