Today we’d like to introduce you to Sommer Nicole.
Sommer Nicole is the Founder and CEO of Kissworks Studios, Kiss Girls Inc. and Sommer Nicole Photography. One of the most progressive companies in the lifestyle, entertainment staffing & photography/Production industry. Sommer, who started her modeling career at the tender age of three, has several years of experience in the modeling and entertainment world. Over the years, she gravitated to the business side of the industry, and after noticing that the industry was primarily male-dominated and lacked female influence, she decided to start her own entertainment company Kisses Entertainment, at the age of 19.
When she was 21, Sommer decided to change the direction of her business from party promotions to booking GoGo dancers and Models, she quickly gained momentum and created a buzz in the city of Atlanta and surrounding cities with beautiful Models hosting parties and talented dancers “Go-Going” in the hottest clubs in the city. By the time she turned 22, Sommer started receiving National staffing contracts for Miller Coors, Corona, Ciroc, Blue Cross Blue Shield, American Family Insurance, BET, VH1, just to name a few.
In late 2014, Sommer decided to bring on a partner and they decided to open a Photography and Production studio by the name of Kissworks Studios in the Grant Park and Atlanta zoo area which became the headquarters of Kisses Entertainment.
Kiss Girls Inc. formally was known as Kisses Entertainment is now a female based Creative production company that specializes in all of your production needs.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
it has definitely been a challenging journey. Starting my business at a young age, with no college education and no start-up funding was definitely a struggle. Everything I learned was either self-taught or advice from my amazing mentors which would not give me the contracts I wanted if my presentation wasn’t good enough. lol
My advice to young aspiring female entrepreneurs, I recommend finding your niche and separating yourself by becoming innovative and creative. Always believe in yourself and no matter how hard times may get NEVER give up on your yourself nor your goals.
What should we know about Kissworks Studios, LLC/Sommer Nicole Photography? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a multifaceted entrepreneur based currently in Atlanta, GA. I specialize in Children Photography but I also shoot family portraits and Acting headshots. I just recently reopened Kissworks Studios, now located in Brookhaven (5) minutes outside of midtown and Buckhead area. Kissworks Studios is the #1 Entertainment Studio in Atlanta offering Recording studio for Artist and voice-overs, Pod-Cast, Photography/Videography, Glam Bar/Lash Bar and Dance/Rehearsal Hall. I’m mostly known for booking beautiful Models for Promotional Modeling, Video shoots, Movies, Reality tv, hair campaigns, etc. and staffing production for small budgets to big-budget projects.
I’m most proud of ALL my accomplishments, with minimum knowledge about owning a company, I stepped out on faith and believed in myself. Even though the journey has been difficult I have become empowered by my strength and achievements because of the adversities I had to endure.
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
I feel like the biggest barriers today to female leadership in my industry is building a sisterhood because it’s still male-dominated and I think more females should come together and share knowledge and wealth. My advice to women in my industry is to support and empower each other. We must start by knowing our morals, value, and integrity.
