Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Topp.
Robyn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got into fitness at an early age after suffering from childhood obesity which shortly then turned into anorexia. I was bullied during my childhood years which caused me to go from one extreme to the next. I was introduced to fitness by my grandmother who was a member at our local gym where I grew up back then known as Spa lady never would I have thought that being a guest there at the age of 13 would change my life and my way of thinking.
At the age of 15, I was certified through IDEA which included personal training and group fitness classes. Realizing that I was broken at a very young age had a hold on me achieving my weight loss goals with that being said I focus on not only the fitness and the nutrition side of it but more so on what has a hold on someone not being able to achieve their goals. Redirecting minds and changing the mindset will implement physical change. Focusing on building up, encouraging and holding people accountable is my main priority.
At the age of 44, I continue to make Energy and Education a must both are needed to excel in helping others achieve their goals. I am a firm believer of practicing what I preach I would never have any of my clients participate or expect them to do anything that I would not do or perform myself. Physical fitness is a way of life “you are your most important project you will ever work on.”
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Unfortunately, I don’t think any road is easy. For me, there has been a lot of struggles with finding a balance within my self and teaching that balance to others. Dealing with obesity and anorexia created a challenge to find that happy median, to be honest, it is still a struggle that I face everyday, but with God and time, these challenges become a thing of the past.
