Meet Nya Peoples of Nya B. Marketing in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nya Peoples.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nya. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been an entrepreneur. My journey starts at the age of six in Warren, Michigan. My first ever business was selling my toys out of my parent’s garage to get candy from the local 7-eleven, later in high school doing my fellow classmates homework for extra cash, to doing hair and selling air fresheners at Florida A & M University to buy my first car.

After graduating from FAMU with a BS in Political Science and a minor in Public Relations, I obtained my Masters in Marketing at the University of Tampa. My goal throughout my journey has been to support individuals and creative brands by helping them to thrive in their perspective industries while being authentic to who they are. That is how Nya B. Marketing came about. My company helps brands build awareness around their brand story through the creation of content and campaigns.

Has it been a smooth road?
It most definitely HAS NOT been a smooth road. First I had to convince myself that I could do it without having the approval of family, friends, and colleagues. I officially started Nya B. Marketing, LLC in July of 2018 after quitting my first ever full-time job out of grad school. I’m talking about the job that made me move from sunny Florida to St. Louis. The job, despite paying my bills and financially allowing me to travel and get married, was beyond stressful and almost killed my entrepreneur spirit!

Quitting meant giving up the security I was used to. Despite making it through my two-year matriculation at the job, no one seemed to understand that a salary plus benefits, to me, didn’t equate to self-growth and how I saw myself in the world. Shortly after leaving, my husband and I moved from St. Louis to Atlanta with a few dollars in our pockets and no place of our own. As many of you know, finding an affordable place to live in Atlanta, in a decent area, is not an easy feat. None the less, after five months of grinding it out, we were able to afford our own spot. Every day as I work towards building my company, I realize my dream is most definitely free, but the hustle in making my business successful is sold separately.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Nya B. Marketing story. Tell us more about the business.
Nya B. Marketing is a digital marketing and public relations company where “social stages” are born and content is king. We specialize in the creation of content and building social stages for our clients to promote their brand. Our definition of social stages are platforms that encourage an exchange of ideas, information, or entertainment. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, websites, podcasts, and emails. We specialize in podcasts editing and production, social media management and advertising, email marketing campaigns, website development, public relations campaigns, and printing services. One of our favorite podcasts we’ve worked with has been “Virgos Know Everything.” A local hip hop and entertainment podcast hosted by Big Will, Murphy Lee, and Keith Jones (Mr. Did You Know). We’ve also provided social media management services to Hot 365 Radio, an internet radio station based out of St. Louis, MO.

I would say the number one thing that sets me apart from other digital marketing and public relations companies is my connection to the client and my belief of allowing them to be their authentic selves. Brands work with me because I believe in them and what it is that they want to accomplish. I then provide them with creative solutions to reaching their awareness goals.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the digital marketing industry growing vastly within the next 5-10 years because of the societal push for technology and STEM programs. According to a 2018 study at Hootsuite, there are 7.6 billion people in the world, 4 billion people in the population are using the internet. That number is steadily increasing daily. Digital marketing and public relations will also become more customizable as data will continue to be collected to better understand internet users.
